It feels like it will do that on dry pavement, maybe not quite as fast. Its gonna be nasty either way, I am looking forward to a 4hi launch soon as the roads dry off:naughty:

be ready to , steer right, steer left, then back to the right, then she'll straighten out. wet roads make for bad situations, especially with a locker.

lol I know, I have a spool in my 78 can't play on wet roads at all. I did that vid on a back road had it got away I would have just went in my uncles field.

My sis in law went through the median on I10 in my bro's tuned 08 when she matted it on a damp rd. Tuned alone these thing will get stupid when its wet.

I just did a boosted launch and holy crap! I only made 44psi but man it was quick I have to adjust the w/g some more.
Where does the sct or ebp sensor top out at? I keep hitting 590kpa which is 85 overall no matter where my gate is set, it may be I just have the regulator turned out too much. I am scared it will get too high if I turn it in very much. Its about 5 turns out from full pressure now.

Dustin it has a factory 3L73 in it but no aftermarket locker

I believe thats about what it maxes out at....That is why I bought a 100lb ebp gauge to mount on the truck.... Also bought two boost gauges one 30 lb one to measure boost from the hp turbo and a 100lb overall boost gauge, mainly because I wasnt sure what the factory maxes out at as well

I had mine come loose at 80mph trying to get around some ass on a freeway when tuned and wet. Pucker party!

need to get that back pressure in check you are at the sensor maximum so it may actually be higher

It stayed at 589 most of the run but did hit 590 at some points on the data logger. I guess I will have to change springs I have the 1.4 bar springs in now.

I think boost should be higher also, I could only pressure test it to about 40 psi as it kept blowing off my test plug any higher.

That is like 71psi if its 589kpa. Isnt that about where I want it? Im pretty sure Tadd told me to set it at 72ish but I lost the paper I wrote it down on. I pm'ed him to ask where he likes the bp to be. Where should I set it?

Unless you are way out of control on ebp numbers I wouldnt be adjusting your gate based on those numbers yet..... Id be adjusting based on boost.... How much boost (air) do you need to burn off all of your fuel and keep egts on check? If you can hit 70lbs of boost and pretty much have no smoke and stay on the safe side of the egts, then there isnt really much sense to run say 85lbs of boost. Obviously if you have huge injectors for your turbos (which I dont think this is the case) then you may not ever be able to achieve a smoke less truck or some what safe egts and then should be more concerned about ebp numbers.... But again, if youre seeing way out of control ebp numbers, then you dont have any other choice to tune the gate based on that, but if thats the case, you should be looking into a bigger exhaust housing on whatever turbo you think is causing the restriction

I feel after head studs these trucks can handle some serious boost/ebp numbers. Mike@MPD was pegging 100lb boost and bp gauges with stock valve train.

It may not hurt to get yourself some 100lb mechanical boost and ebp gauges.

Thats awesome, I hit 55 psi boost while rolling into it at crusing speed today. When I did the launch I was surprised it only made 44 psi. It was less then a 1/8 mile run but my stock turbos would hit 51-52 in the 1/8.
Im not sure how the cam, ported intake, and these turbos should boost. Its crazy strong but I'm used to seeing more boost, and don't want to be leaving a lot of power on the table from not being adjusted corectly.

Egts have hit 1500 just a few times, on the boosted launch (the hardest I've ran it) it hit 1540. My old setup would have been closer to 1700+

usually from what i have seen max powers do well at about 60-65 psi, they dont seam to make much more than that for whatever reason. The cam might be making a difference.

stock rods do not like those numbers.

I understand that and that obviously its not good on anyones parts by any means, but Mikes truck took that beating for quite a while. My point was, unless his ebp numbers are outrageous, he should be tuning his gate in to dial in boost and how much is needed to burn the fuel he has. I wouldnt worry about 70lbs of ebp if hes making 60-65lbs of boost. If his numbers are that crazy that he cant get his ebp down or his boost to ebp ratio is through the roof then it may be a good idea to look into bigger housings.

More boost doesn't necessarily mean more power. I believe a lot goes into it, ported heads and a cam can make for lower boost numbers.
A few have ran big numbers with stock internals and a few have not. Everyone has their own opinions on whether it is necessary to build the lower end when going big. Since I don't have the convenience of a diesel shop on my property I chose to cover my ass. Too much damn money to rebuild these bitches and I don't want to go through that again.
