My key

Hey guys I just picked up a 2011 king ranch fx4 today and its got some kind of governor to limit it to 80mph, the warning shows up as mykey is there a way to reprogram the key I have since I'm guessing its not the admin key or is it something I have to take it to the dealer for? I hope it's something I can do cause the dealer is about an hour and a half away

Did you get both keys with it? If so you will probably have to use the other key.

I think that's about where mine is governed at also

on my mustang you just go into the information panel and set up the mykey. I didn't need both keys

I have used that setting on my gf and my mom before. But mine limits out at 96

I only got one key with it, apparently I need the admin key that I don't have, I was hoping someone new a work around so I didn't have to order a new key

You need the other key as it is the "admin" key. Mine wouldn't play Howard 100 because it said restricted, so I switched keys and was able to reset all the controls. Call the dealer and see if they can reset it for you would be my first move.

I think ford will reset the features for him but I bet they tell him he needs a new admin key and he winds up buying one anyway

Mine did this as well I chewed the dealers ass. It's unsafe how am I supposed to go anywhere limited to 80.... Needles to say they are making me another key and I'm not paying a dime. Call them they can make it and mail it i believe.

I'm at the dealership now, they are making me a new key for free, I love the truck so far and coming from a 5.4 gas to the 6.7 the power difference is amazing, thanks for the help guys

What kind of programmers is everybody running on these things

Seems to be H&S I will be as soon as my warranty is up. Others may chime in.

Mines limited to 80 I until I get to Pennsylvania lol I'm hauling so its not a big deal

Yeah, MyKey can be a PITA sometimes.
I had a customer that flew in from Denmark, drove a rental all the way to Michigan with the MyKey set at 55mph. It sucked to tell her we couldn't do anything and she should go to the rental company. It was a long holiday weekend and she had to be in Louisiana by Monday. I would have killed someone if I was limited to 55 for 2000 miles.
