Need a 6.0 starter

My dads 2004 6.0L's starter took a dump on him. So is there any in paticulare to get? Would like to get a good one since its our farm truck and used daily for work, thanks.

XDP has one made by Alliant. I just looked up gear reduced starter on Google. Don't know if the stock one is or not but the geared down starters last longer and draw less amperage.

I may have to try that one. Im gona see how much a fomoco one is with my discount tomorrow. It would be nice to bolt in something better than what came in it.lol

I have had good service from the factory starter.. 140K on each one.. I don't remember what I paid at the dealer for one..

Yea i usually stick with oem unless something else is proven better. Wasnt sure if there was a heavy duty one being sold or not.

Mine has a 185k and still original so the factory 6.0 starters are good! My old 7.3 didn't give out until after 400k. That truck had mostly highway miles on it though.
