Ok so my truck I think I'm averaging 12 mpg right now and that's with my chip at 75hp I think I am currently running the bullydog 6 position chip I have a 6" lift 4" exhaust and Cai. I'm thinking about going to 35's and switching to a dp-tuner chip with economy setting how much will this help??

If you want better mpg ditch the lift and big wheels and tires.

Don't have the $$$$$$$$$ right now but I will be driving 460 miles every other weekend just curious if the dp-tuner Eco tune helps and if so even 1-2 mpg would pay for itself quickly

You could always skip buying a new chip and get your current one reburned..... I believe there are a few that do reburn bully dog chips

I know Tony Wildman at Total Diesel does. His tunes rock. I think Matt at Gearhead also does. Probably a lot more.

Getting your chip reburned will be cheaper than changing chips. That way it is simply a software change, you already own the hardware.

Is everything else right with your truck....Hubs staying locked, fuel leak, anything like that?

Hubs stay locked, no fuel leaks that I know of and no other problems that are apparant. Does the custom tuning help enough to justify it?? Hmm I will have to contact him

When you say hubs stay locked. Do you mean all the time? If so, that could be one reason.

Check out his web site. It is a lot cheaper than what you think to just reburn your chip. Might be a fee to reformat, not sure.

They stay unlocked and only work if I lock them in. So I'm never in 4 wheel unless I lock the hubs and flip the switch

my comparison, and i drive it like i stole it half the time, driving around town on 35s, No limit DD tune and this WW2, i hand calculate 12 mpg with what ever fuel im getting here in AZ.
On the highway on a leisure trip i figured about 15/16 mpg doing 65/70 mph last week round trip to phoenix with an empty truck.

Is your speedometer correct? If it's not corrected for the bigger tires, you are actually travelling further than your odometer shows.

my 01 has up pipe leaks and you cant see the boots on the ic tubes... im sure its leaking air.. my dually is 9000 lbs... so thats prolly why its low... but i think its great that a 9k lb truck gets that good... 10mpg hauling anything..

live life full throttle
+1 to this, winter fuel kills our mileage

Hmmm why are these trucks so low

What are you talking about, these trucks actually do very well. What do you want from a truck?
You may want to check your ebps/tube, ipr, icp, cps, boost leaks, etc. There are many variables that can cause poorer fuel mileage. I did not pay attention to what your truck is exactly.
Last summer, I got 14ish city and 17-18 hwy in my F350 crewcab, lwb, 4x4 dually, auto with 4:10 gears. If it was a standard, srw w/3:73's; it would get quite a bit better. Thats pretty good for a huge heavy truck imo. There are others getting better than I am too.

You need to start going through your truck and check things out. I lost mileage about a yr ago; changed ICP, IPR, cps and gained mileage back. Sometimes the ebps and tube get really dirty causing a loss in mileage.

^^^^^^ this

Tuning won't improve fuel economy if something isn't right with the truck to begin with.
