Need help with turbos

im not really sure whats going on with my truck. everything acts like normal when i start from a dead stop, truck runs through the gears fine, once i get up to fifth gear and it goes into overdrive, the truck falls on its face and looses all boost. when this happens it will not go anywhere it just lugs and dumps smoke and wont kick down a gear. every gear other than overdrive in fifth is fine. but it will take forever to build the boost again and once it does, it takes off.



this is what my h&s is telling me. can you guys tell me anything more?

for starters i would try and clean the ebp sensor and tube.

:whs:, & also check your HP VGT actuator is working. Have someone turn the key on while you watch the actuator arm. It should do a self test and move through the length of its duty cycle.

You can move the arm by hand to check for any binding. Check and clean sensors. Check for boost leaks.

if you stomp on it from a dead stop does it light quick or is it really laggy?
