Need opinions on this 97 7.3 I'm looking at

I found a 97 7.3 that I might buy. Truck looks like its in great condition it does have very very little fender rust. Has 151,000 miles 5 speed extended cab for 9,000. It had one owner. I ran a carfax and it looked clean ill probably have the dealer give me the previous owners number. What do you guys think?

Seems pretty high to me, but you never know, what was the front hitch for?

it must be in the northwest to be that high! almost double what they bring around here, 4500-6500

I'm thinking the front hitch is for a snow plow? If I did bought I would tell them to take it off. Truck is located in Michigan my intentions is to use as a dd and just look at my 6.4 lol. Occasionally haul a camper thanks for you guys opinions. I just have a thing for the 97s IMO the best truck ford ever made ill see what I will do

might be a little late on this but i would look at it closely. looks like i see overspray in the inner fender might be some bondo in there some where.

9k is too much with cancer in the body.
Seeing how rusty the front hitch is (not for a plow, by the way) I'm curious what the rest of the running gear looks like... spring hangers tend to be a common spot for rot.
Also looks like it's been repainted at some point and not all that great of a paint job. I'd pull the Carfax and check for wrecks...
Get it to a shop and check everything- brakes, u-joints, ball joints, check for loose bolts or broken brackets, etc. Get it on a lift and really look it over close underneath.

Look for bubbles in the bed side and check the bottom of the doors and the core support! Like was said before the spring hangers rust pretty fast. If it has patches in the bed side look for rust lines. Bought to many northern trucks. not to bad on price, maybe work him down a bit. Good luck!

thanks guys for the input I took the trip last friday to look at it and it wasn't good. Ran good and all but there was a good patch of rust on the cab down low by the driver side back. So that scared me enough not to buy it.

Yea it has been in a wreck too so that scared me a little too. It was kinda sad never would I have that I woulda left a 97 obs behind but this was just to much and price was higher then it was worth
