Hey guys I'm looking for some advice!! I've built 7.3's, 6.0's duramax's and Cummins but I'm pretty new when it comes to the 6.4

I have an 08 with DPF delete, EGR block off plates, cold side intercooler pipe, CAI and livewire with Eric's Extreme X tune.

My question is what else should I do?? June 30th is our big diesel drags event down here and almost all of the competition is compound tubo dmax's.

Any idea what my quarter mile time would like with my current mods?

I'm thinking an airdog, 4" downpipe, and upgraded intake elbow. Any other suggestions??

I'm seriously considering nitrous. Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance!!

Here's a pic of my baby :)

the airdog, down pipe, and intake eblow, while good mods to do, aren't going to net you any power increases or make you run any faster.

:whs:

If you run nitrous be well prepared to do a trans and/or headstuds afterwards.

You at a point at which you need to decide just how far you want to take it and what your budget is.

You should run 12.6-12.8 pretty easily given your cab configuration and current mods. Drop some weight and I bet you could go sub 12.6 with a good 60 foot time.

^^^ Haha well s*it let me just bust out the check book!! lol

Well I'm prepared to do the headstuds but I figured I would just wait til I blow the head gasket since I have to take it all apart anyways.

And for the airdog it wont help anything? On my Duramax you absolutely had to have one just to maintain any kind of rail pressure...

Also, I have the EGR blocker plates. I've heard that they can be a problem because the 6.4's use the EGR as a wastegate of sorts? Is this true?? With the big tune I'm running and possibly adding nitrous am I going to need to add an external one?

But as far as the future is concerned I want to go big. I'm thinking 700-1000hp Isn't that what everybody wants? lol

I won't be able to do it all at once but I definetly want to work up to it.

I was thinking of keeping the stock VGT and adding a bigger atmospheric turbo for starters.

If you want to drag race.... Traction bars should be one of your next highest priorities. Id trade the airdog out of your list of next mods for a set of traction bars. I did them a few months ago and out of everything Ive done (besides the dpf delete/tuner) they are my favorite. The truck shifts absolutely perfect now and is so much smoother.

Plus running 12s on stock fuel is pretty impressive, and no crazy upgrades... Id like to see any other truck do that. Ask one of those Dmax guys what it took for them to get into the 12s

Are they really that great?? Are they gonna hang down all stupid? I hate that look lol

The truck has a 4" lift on it and I was actually thinking about even going to back to just a leveling kit. Would the bars still be benificial then as well?

Any brand recommendations?
