New 200amp alternator

Hey guys, just bought a bigger alternator for my 05 f250. Just wondering how big of a bittch it is to change it. I think after my battery issue it might be time to put a new one on.
Thanks in advance for any info.

I have an 05 and took my alternator off to swap turbos and it wasn't band to put back on. The advice I will give you is it took 2 people for me to get the belt back on. The belt tensioner is pretty stout.

Just use a 1/2" breaker bar style wrench for the tensioner.

easy peasy.

What kind of alternator did you go with?

Man up, remove alternator, install new alternator, grab belt with bare hands like a caveman and put it back on.... Simple as that.... All you need is a 10mm wrench and a 13mm socket

I already planned to manhandle that ****. It looked easy to replace but didn't want to bite off more than I can chew. Thanks for the input. New one gets put on as soon as I get home

easy job no tools for the belt
and the tensioner (most) has a hold open lever

Put the alternator on. Y'all weren't kidding on having to muscle that belt back on, Took a pry bar and 2 people. Thanks for the help.

I didn't realize how a bad alternator would affect overall performance. I noticed ultra severe turbo lag where it was a bear to spool. Got this new alternator on and I'm scared to put my foot to the floor. It's much faster than my last 6.0.
