Has anyone had a TC replaced under warranty? Mine is on the way out, my dealers cool with mods don't know if I should go with a factory replacement under warranty(if he will cover it) or go ahead and install an aftermarket. No charge vs 1500.00 plus, until the factory goes out again

What mods do you have done? If it is not a major build, then, IMO, you could go with the factory replacement, as long as you dont beat on it real bad.... But, a good aftermarket one, would prob serve you better... Not to say that they dont fail, EVEN WITH MILD UPGRADES..... ask SPARTAN about that! LOL But they are made to take more of a beating than the factory one.

Are you talking about an aftermarket one or just a rebuilt stock?

If they will cover it would'nt you get it done than have an aftermarket installed when money is right and either sell the stocker or keep it on the shelf ?

Well decided to go with the factory warranty replacement. Now I don't think anything was wrong with the old one, it still does the same thing. When running 1/2 throttle the TC locks then unlocks for a second then locks back up. I thought it was slipping but now I don't know whats causing this. TC % slip will still read 75-100 sometimes. If i'm easy on the pedal the TC locks at 45 (running 310EL tune) but if I run 3/-to full it locks between 55-65.

You are on borrowed time with the 310 EL on a stock converter that is daily driven. The unlock and lock when running happens around 45-50 right?? It kind of double shifts the last two gears that is related to the early lock up tuning. Try running with the tow haul ON and see if your issue goes away or you could change to the late lock. Either way, you are on borrowed time with a stock converter if you beat on it.

Would the new one be doing it already, thats why I wonder if its tuning related instead of the TC? I had 45K on the other one.

YES, it is tune related, Have you tried another tune? There are other tunes that are way better for Daily Driving. Have you tried the 300 tune? They will all have the fair when locking up and half throttle on the 3-4-5 shift. To see if your converter is sliping, stand on the throttle when you are cruising about 60-70 and watch the torque slip. if you see 100+ slip constant, there you go.

310 is my favorite tune, I've DD with it since it was released other than KEMs 345. I just don't rember the TC unlocking on the older Spartan tunes before the last update.

The older tunes didnt have an early lock up option. If you change to late lockup or try the tow haul mode as suggested earlier, I bet it goes away...

All of the older tunes were early lock up, the update added late lock up.
