This is going to turn out bad. Low rpm torque that these used to have will be gone, which is what these trucks need.

I like the look. And from a business standpoint its a great move. Keeping everything in house. THe 6.7 paired with the 6r140 and the right rear end will outpull the cummins anyway

Agreed. I've never felt a cummins to be much stronger down low anyway. My old mega cab couldn't even do a ***kin burn out.

^This.

Sure, they will lose some CUMminGs lovers, but otherwise, they are keeping it in house, and that you gotta love.

Give it some time, for the most part the newer 6.7s have been pretty trouble free. Its detuned enough to go easy on the parts even with heavy use, yet still make a good amount of usable torque. If it proves reliable I don't see why it wouldn't sell well. Most fleet companies don't even look at the motors anyway, they look at how many they can get of something and for how little. I think it will be fine.

This.

Our 7.3 550 definitely tows and drives better both loaded and unloaded than our 650. Both are same year but 650 is a Cummins. We have actually thought about swapping in a mildly modified 7.3 due to the lack of power.

This is a good move.

Every rollback and heavy truck we have had with 5.9 or 8.1 has been a flat out dog in the mountains.

And one of them with an allison behind it puts you at risk of getting run over going up hill or run over the side going down.
