First, this was a temp problem that hasn't yet repeated itself.

Hop in the truck last night, stop off at the convenience store. Got back in my truck, backed out of the parking spot, and tried to drive off. Nothing happened when I hit the throttle. Flipped switch to different positions, same thing. Shut down the truck, waited a minute, fired it back up. Throttle worked perfectly.

Hit up a couple more destinations last night, no recurrence of the problem. Plenty of codes thrown, as read on my Insight.

1536 - Parking brake circuit
0220 - Idle Validation Switch failure
1780 - OCS out of Self Test range
0571 - Speed control Brake switch circuit failure
0703 - BOO switch circuit fault
0565 - Cruise Control signal malfunction
0567 - Cruise Control RESUME signal
0568 - Cruise Control SET signal

Was this just some electrical gremlin, or a warning of problems to come?

I had a truck that would do this, but IIFC it always blew a fuse when I had no pedal. I would pull over, swap one out, and go on my way. Happened 3 or 4 times over the course of 8 months or so. Swapped out the multi-purpose switch/turn signal combination switch and never had another issue.

I'll keep that in mind. It hasn't occurred since. Maybe I started the truck right when the computer was thinking about something else. She got mad, and let me know it. At least, at this time, it's not a ghost issue.

Usually you have to increase the clearance between the throttle pedal tab and the Idle Validation Switch a bit so the switch resets each time. Easy to check by depressing the throttle pedal and releasing, should hear a click on depression and again when its released. Try it several times with each adjustment (bending the tab or adding a set screw to set clearance).
