I dont understand peoples method in taking the rocker fulcrum off in the E-Series to change #3 injector... just take the solenoid off... why bother ****ing with the valvetrain and possibly dislodging a pushrod or causing this

It was a Cummins Big Cam 400 ....they have three heads.....
Swallered a pushtube.....

for those of you that don't know, it's a 855 CU inch inline 6 cylinder ...

have three pushtubes (pushrods, intake, exhaust, and Injector) for each cylinder...they're about 18 inches long, and about 5/8" in diameter ...

they sit on the lower followers, roller cam followers, and one got loose and jumped off the lower follower,
went down into the crankcase area, where it bounced happily around for a while, then got in between a spinning rod and the side of the block ...

after that, it got ugly in a hurry .....

Oh man technical thread getting fun :D

Did you flip the engine upside down to get the pan off to look for that bolt? If so it may be somewhere sitting on a rod or stuck somewhere when you flipped it back over?
