I have a quick question for you guys.

I just installed a mini maxx and 5" exhaust on my truck. I am waiting on my intake to get here as we speak. But I had some unusual temps I think.

Truck is a 2010 that has been stock for 85k miles. Just deleted yesterday and today while driving back from lunch I noticed my temps were a little high. Coolant got up to around 209 and my oil temp got up to around 211. I just changed the oil two days ago and replaced the filter. Is this normal? Should I worry about that?

Seems a little high to me. On hot days mine still seems to be around the 195-199 area for ect and eot is right round that. I would check and make sure the radiator is clean and not full of road grime for starters, road grime and can slow heat transfer and make it run warmer

So what could cause this? First time ive ever had temps this high. Something that was funny to me is my temp guage on my truck dash was reading extremely low. Almost cold but my mini maxx was showing the temps I stated above. Why is this?

Well...here's a update. I noticed coolant was real low so I added a whole gallon of premix Ford gold coolant and it is right in the middle of the fill lines now. Could this have caused it to make these temperatures run like that?

Ran it for about 15-20 min and temps are back to normal. Oil stayed 197-201 and coolant was steady around 195

70 when temps were high parked at the shop and temps never went down. Not that it's filled to the correct level it's been cooler and cools some when stopped

Sounds like you better find out where to coolant went! Maybe a leaking radiator that is really slow?

Doesn't look like it. Truck sat for a while over weekend and didn't notice any leaked. Crawled under and couldn't see any sign of a leak.

Those temps now sound pretty reasonable, but like mentioned before, I would want to know where that coolant went.

Mine used to never leak any coolant until the thermostat opened up then you could smell it, some of the leaks on these things can be really tricky to find I never found mine.

Update: Drove 5 miles to work this morning. Let the truck sit for 2 hrs then went to check coolant level. Almost down to the bottom of the tank again. Im going to run down to the ford house in a few and get a couple more gallons of coolant. Where in the hell can my coolant be going, or can it be that it was just so low to begin with what I put back in yesterday just went into the motor and I should add some more?
