Is the gauge supposed to come up while cranking? Im having a no start issue and dont have access to a scanner right this min. I filled the HPOP Res and it keeps draining. Any help? It is a 2002 truck.

I don't think my gauge moves until the truck starts. The gauge on the dash only measures low pressure oil though, so you won't have any idea what HPO is until you get a scanner hooked up to it. Pretty hard to diagnose a no start without a scanner. Does the RPM gauge move while cranking? Does it even attempt to start?

I know the gauge is for low pressure. It does nothing but crank, I can not keep the HPOP res full. The CPS is good to go. I dont have a scanner available at this time.

Or an IPR stuck open.

If my truck does have an extended crank, my gauge will show pressure.

The tach will not move until the engine fires on a 2002.
