Amazingly I found room for one more project......I know right?
The tow truck is almost finished and will take over......obviously tow duties. And the tightwad got T-boned by a giant antlered rodent so its getting a major overhaul come spring. So I need a driver.
Bought this last week for $900. It's an 85 6.9 F350. The engine is new and it's a 4speed, D60 10.25 4.10 gears.
The idea here is to build a sweet driver that could show and travel. Maybe take it to a few events. The goal is to have it done by TS.
I'm going to keep a running tally on this project to see just how cheap I can do it.
I've already sold the front bumper ($150) and have the rear for sale. The body is junk and will get scrapped along with the chassis of this clean Bricknose I'm picking up in the morning for $550.
I also just so happen to have a ATS wastegated turbo system and full exhaust I pulled from another scrapper. I would normally sell it for $500 so that's what I'll add to the tally.
I don't want the 4spd but haven't decided if I want a ZF5 or to use a E4OD/BW T-case I have from the same scrapper. It's a recent Ford reman and in great shape but that might add to the expense if I need a controller.
