On a scale of 1-10 I Have problem that ranks n about 9.6

I dropped a peice of a pick down my engine dipstick chute.
Has anybody else done this wTF do I do

Besides not crank it over ever again
Please help

Drain the oil and put some kind of screen in the flow and see if you catch it

Likely it will sit in the bottom of your oil pan forever and you won't ever know its there. Maybe use a bigger pic next time so this can't happen

I wouldn't worry about it. Steel doesn't float. And oil is lighter than water.

Drop a washer or something in a jug of oil and see if you can even get it to budge off of the bottom my shaking the jug.

Unless you're planning on driving upside down, you'll be fine

I understand what you are saying and I wished it worked like that but if it did I wouldn't have had needle bearings go through my oil system and wipe out my motor

You might be fine if you don't catch it. Hopefully it's on the drain plug magnet, I would make an attempt to flush and try to catch it

Slap a big magnet or 2 on the outside of the pan for extra insurance (assume steel pan) Run it around, next oil change, slide the over by the drain and see if you get lucky.
