Hey fella's my king ranch had a dpf delete and a tune when I bought it. I have no idea what tune but I do have my own black maxx. Is it possible to just tune my truck with my black maxx and pretend whatever tune it has now is the stock file?? I don't want to have it flashed to stock if I don't have to if I ever trade or sell it in the future..

my stock file is a spartan 210 tune because my DashDaq got stolen...

No issues with mine i guess... but its a hassle going back to stock from what I hear.

You have an h&s or a sct? I know that back in the day when my dd was fried I was stuck with the 275 file and when I got my mini Max and tried to install it,it didn't recognize the spartan strategies and kept giving me an error.

Get ahold of h&s for a recovery file. You can pull your strategy code with the mini max I do believe, but I would not attempt to load a new tune with out going back to a stock file first. Some platforms don't play nice together and could cause dtc or the trans acting weird.

If you're using an H&S, there's no need to go back to stock. Just load it up. If you select return to stick, it will load a stock file on it

The h&s will look at the strategy in the PCM before it overwrites it and verify it has that calibration on the card before It flashes the truck. At least it used to. If you look at the card contents you see all the calibrations on the card that it uses to put the truck back to stock.

This is correct. I just loaded a h@s over another tuner in a customers truck that is deleted and tuned. He bought it used and had no device with it. It loaded right onto the truck just fine with no issues. Also returned it back to stock with the h@s just to make sure. It will work.
