P0299

2011 with 80k miles, still full emissions.Truck started making an air horn type noise under acceleration and threw the CEL. Code shows to be P0299. As you might guess its also sluggish and underpowered. Any other things to check other that the plastic tube between the inter-cooler and the air intake valve? Haven't checked anything yet since its dark. Did a search in "6.7 Tech" and nothing came up.

The only thing I can find so far is a bad expansion joint on the EGR cooler piping.

Check the turbo itself, 11-14 have a tendency to go out. Get a long ass screwdriver and put it on the center section while someone power brakes the truck to duplicate the noise, if its in the turbo, you will hear it.

Had the EGR crossover from manifold to cooler replaced and all is well.

Starting to have dreams about bumpy roads and parts falling off.
