Ok guys, I'm just looking for some info, personal experiences, how much abuse they took, how long they lasted, if they cracked, ect. ect. I'm curious about all typs of pistons( stock, de-lipped stock, coated, fly cut, HD, etc.) All types and all brands. Thanks guys I hope this turns out to be very informative!

Subbing. Also, if someone doesn't mind sharing, what did it cost you to have the pistons changed labor wise. Really wish I had a way to lift the cab myself

I cracked my stock one with 67,000 miles on them. Dynoed at 811 hp. Cracked from one side on top the wrist pin to the other. I'll be replacing them with Midwest pistons.

Stock pistons. Put 30k miles on them with intake tune exhaust. Switch to a single 75 & 80 mm turbo for 15k miles. At least 15 passes on it as well as a DD. then I DD it with the quad setup for 5k miles, zero issues whatsoever

Subbed for info. But I have a job one with all the mods in the sig, 12 sled hooks and 10 drag passes, several street races, and day in day out daily beatings and I'm gunna hit 100k miles today and still got the stock pistons, tuned for 50k

There is a guy on the .org that just cracked one and cut a piston in half to find a factory flaw. I don't want to post a link to the thread though without a mods permission.

made it like 44,000 miles stock pistons, various power levels and set ups, didnt crack enough to hurt anything.
Now i have cut stock pistons, mileage is not really relevant in this truck because it doesnt see a lot of street action. Its got probably 100 passes and who knows how many dyno pulls all above 800hp for the last year and a half

Competing forum or not those photos should be posted here.

You're right on that. Prior to searching for that piston thread I haven't logged in over there in at least 6 months.

So nobody has had any issues with cut stock pistons? I think I understand why the stock ones crack, but I'm just making sure I'm thinking along the right lines! Oh and Nick your truck almost doesn't count. That truck is more of a freak than anything I have ever saw!!! I can't believe that thing made the power it did on so many stock parts. I know that the massive amount of air helped that but still:rockon:

lol, she was over 1K HP for 3 years daily driven on a stock motor with no problems. I thank my grandpa driving habits for that
