Noticed this noise today while at the car wash. It's rpm dependent and seems to be coming from front pass side of the motor. At first I thought bearing but now I'm wondering if its a pulley going out or water pump. No noticeable loss in power or missing or anything.

Thoughts? Can really hear it around :25

Sounds like either a water pump or idler pulley, I agree though pull the belt off and see if it goes away. If it doesn't do it with no belt then its either and idler pulley or a water pump.

1. Minks got jokes.
2. Gare....really? You sure you can zing me with your sub 500 pile?
3. Released the tensioner and it made the noise much louder. The alternator pulley was screaming with no tension on it.

So....is that pulley replaceable or is the alt all one unit?

Get the belt off of the crank pulley, you don't want the belt to be spinning at all when checking.

Lol

V Ice has 99 problems. ..an alternator isn't one of them.

If you have to replace it....get with Jason. He built me a badass one.
