I'll keep tabs on it. I'll keep track of my brothers truck also. But that's why I wanted someone else to try it, because it works for me but I'd like some other people to try it. I'll run it for awhile and give some feedback maybe do a write-up. It's so simple i can't believe it works.

has anyone experienced random blinking headlights? noticed it a couple times now that out of the blue my headlights will flash when its parked, engine off, and keys out of the ignition.. WTF over?

Do you have a security system? Maybe something is partially alerting it. A loud noise or something.

i have whatever came on it from ford.. i think its just the basic doors locked and horn flashes if doors are open without hitting the unlock button type thing.. it was dead quiet when i stood beside it and it flashed...

Idk. I thought I've seen them do it before but then I thought I was just seeing things too. Weird for sure.

Can anyone explain a loud whining noise coming from the area where the second fuel filter is located under the hood when the truck is low on diesel?
Started it up Friday for the first time in a week had about 13 miles till empty and it whined its ass off until I drove to the station and filled up. It stopped after about 3-4 gallons got pumped in.
Never has done it before and hasn't done it since.
Also before I left the house after I heard the whine I tried to drain the separator and it barely dripped out. Was it just that low on diesel?

it is due to the fact that only a moron would let fuel get lower than a quarter of a tank in a truck with a $16k fuel system and starts sucking air. starve that hpfp and you will send shrapnel through your entire fuel system..
but, a lot of guys have that whine at idle all the time regardless of fuel level .. i dont. but a few have reported and made a thread about it on here.. in your case, you where on the verge of destroying your hpfp... the others that do it, have no idea what it is..

Well thanks jake I always like getting called stupid for allowing something to happen where it is the first time hearing the consequences.
One day I may be as knowledgable as you when it comes to diesels. Until then stupid is as stupid does.
