Radio dash kit

I'm installing an new radio. Probably pioneer AVHX3600BHS. It is a double din radio. My stock radio appears to be the same size as double din.

For those that installed an after market radio, was a dash kit needed?

Fwiw I have the same radio but it's a avh8500bhs double din, I believe I needed the kit for a Lincoln navigator, I don't have pics on my phone. I actually think I have spare kit I could sell ya, extra being because when they packaged the first kit, they sent me two left side pieces that hold the radio in.

Use a Metra electronics part number 95-5812.

When I did mine a mounting kit was needed.
