Hey guys. Looking for pics or measurements of this installed. I need to replace the one currently in the truck and it seems it was to far in or not far enough in. I have searched for a tool to install this thing high and low locally and have had zero luck. Its amazing the amount of shops out there that just tap them in. I don't have any specs on what is right as I never saw where my original seal sat. Any info you guys have is appreciated. I do have a hole saw with blades trimmed off that fits the plastic ring they provide with the seal. Here's what the one currently in there looks like after about 3 minutes of idle time.

I've always used an installer. No dealers will loan you one? I have one, but I'm not very close.

I've got a buddy at the local for dealership that had the tool. Like you said they supply a plastic ring that pushed the seal in further. Also there are two types of seals. On that seals against the crank and one that's a two part that comes with metal ring that is lock tighted to the crank the seal runs on. Difference between Job 1 and later on.

You have the later one. If I rember correctly the metal is supposed to be pushed further down on the crank

Its an updated seal. The plastic ring makes it so the tool is flat instead of having a recess for that extra room for the metal ring. I'm assuming that everything should sit flush with the rear cover? This has the tiniest lip that sticks out of the rear cover. Like a 1/6th of an inch. And no the flex plate does not touch it.

I know what the tool looks like and will get one from freedom racing but can't wait to put this one in. Does it all just sit completely flush to the cover?
