Would anyone on here be willing to rent out or lend a front axle seal tool for the inner seal? I really don't want to spend $300 for the tool and only use it 1 time.
Looks like this

A long ass section of all thread, some nuts and washers, and a cheap harbor freight bushing driver ought to do the rick. Ive seen a couple built like that.

I dont have any pictures of them, but they ran the all thread thru the axle tube. Then used a nut and washer to hold the driver on, and another nut and set of washers, or a bigger driver on the outside of the tube. Then tighten till the seal is installed and repeat on the other side.

I tap them in, can't remember if I use my seal driver with no handle or a socket on the ford but it's not hard. Just make sure it goes in square.

This is the one I made, 36" long 5/8" threaded rod. Cups for the seal end are freeze plugs from the parts store (misc sizes) about 5 or 6 total should do about any size tube seal you will ever need to do.

There are cheaper versions out there. I got mine for $75 but I searched around. You need something that will drive these seals in evenly. Otherwise you'll be buying another $50 dollar seal to save on the tool.
