Retaining the 2013 head unit

I'm looking to do a very basic sub upgrade in my 2013 lariat, (likely a single 13TW5 or possibly a single 10, but I've read about the signal dropping off around 40hz. Will a signal processor resolve this? I looked at other methods and nothing seems reltaively simple. I have the touch screen so I won't be swapping out the head unit.

Can I just use a remote gain control to turn up the sub amp to deal with this?

Go with a signal processor.. Using a remote gain doesn't do anything. Just makes things distorted...

The above worked very well in the vw golf running off the OEM touchscreen head unit..
