Ok... I have heard a few people complaining about this, yet I have not had much of an issue since I got mine installed. I have been running EXTREME X with FIRMER EARLY LOCK trans file. I would like to have softer shifts, so my foot doesn't bounce when my 450 shifts. (stage 2+ trans with RCD TC and shift kit) So, I have some time, and loaded up a softer shift file, with NO change to the engine tune file. BAM... wrench light on dash. EGR codes... I had that happen once before, and I wasted one of my RETURN TO STOCK UNLOCKS, and it fixed the problem, however, I might have to waste another UNLOCK to fix this... anyone else have this issue? How to fix it? SCT Cannot clear DTCs, neither could my Spartan DD....

Well..... I loaded up STREET with SOFTER SHIFTS, and no wrench light came on, and no DTCs.... So, I reloaded EXTREME X with SOFTER SHIFTS, and no wrench or DTCs.... Drove around the block, runs great, no more slamming shifts, AND I did not have to waste an UNLOCK....

I have to return to stock every time I want to change from Matt's tunes(in the custom tune slots) to Eric's(preloaded slot), and it does not use up any unlocks. Must recognize its the same vehicle

Could be your problem as well. Eric always recommonds return to stock, start the truck, then load the tune you want.

Unlocks are only for When you are changing vehicles.

Correct, only when it reads a different PCM code will it burn an unlock. You can retune the same vehicle as many times as you want, I have probably 8-10 different tunes for my 06 GT and swap them all the time, back to stock, to another tune, ect ect.

At least the problem worked out for ya OP!

Damn... with the 3.01 tunes, I could change in between any of the tunes, any time, with no issues... running around in Xstreet, then go to tow my 5th wheel, and drop down... or try different trans tunes... never had a wrench light pop up... Well as long as it doesnt burn an unlock, I am not above doing that, I figured it was each time.. Hmmm, I should pay better attention next time.

Thanks guys,
corb

I have never went back to stock while changing tunes. Whether it be from preloaded or custom slots. I did get a wrench going from custom to custom. I wonder if I should go back to stock and try and reload the custom to see if I still get the wrench. I dont want to burn unlocks either.

Your sct wouldnt clear the codes with the truck running Corb?

The 3.03 preloaded changing tune to tune is the only ones having this problem on SOME vehicles. It is just a light that means nothing. It doesnt happen on mine even though I would trade my issues for a light on the dash. LOL Eric is working on a fix for this and will email the update for it when he is done.

And like everyone said, you can return to stock 1000+ times on the same vehicle without using a single unlock

I was in 3rd one time, for what ever retarded reason I don't recall BUT. While waiting for traffic to clear, I idled along and when i saw an opening I jumped on it, leaving two nice black streaks down the pavement :lookaround: oops...
anyway, wrench light, reduced power. Got home, pulled the code. Got a "high crank case" code. I called IDP, Eric said to return to stock and reload the tune. Viola' problem solved, case closed.

I have the 3.02 and i'm using the Xt-street and tow.

Corb, how do you like the 3.03? I get better mileage w/ the Xt-street vs the other programs and even in my "stock" setting. I'd like to keep the fuel that I can but I was hearing the 3.03 was suppposed to be a bit more hp.
