Setting timing

If the timing marks line up it is timed right. Both gears are the same size. So one full turn for one is a full turn for the other. if the marks line up you got it right.

Well on the book it said to bring it to where the marks are in the center facing each other and have #1 cyl at top dead center and the lifters should be parallel with each other and they werent

Must have a lifter not going back to home position. See if its stuck.

the cam gear is twice the diameter of the crank gear.

one cam revolution=two crank revolutions.

the cam/crank timing marks keep the engine timed mechanically..however the injection 'timing' is variable, and is controlled by the PCM.

You are right for sure! I forgot and when i saw this i was like you dummy!! referring to me of course. Last cam i did was about 6 month ago. But still... My bad.
