I don't know if a thread was made about his but is there any companies that looked into developing a single vgt? What would be factor stopping one from being produced? All the wiring is there and can easily be tuned. Is it the fact you can't find a vgt exhaust housing to use as a platform to build like a 66 vgt or even a 72 or even bigger?

Too expensive compared to factory compounds that already would out do a large single vgt in every category.

Single turbos are different. Whole different though process. Vgt isn't in that category either.

Dustin and I talked about this awhile back and I was contemplating trying it. The idea was to make one of Elite's modded VGT's work. It would require some fabrication without a doubt, and it probably wouldn't be worth it to be a guinea pig on a project like that. I ended up going with an Elite 71mm atmosphere and didn't look back.

I'm just thinking out loud but could you use the exhaust housing off (I believe) a cummins isx? Don't those use an electric motor to actuate the vanes? And just modify it from there to work? T4 mount or what ever would work? And make a pig take and mill the compressor components

Yes the isx is setup that way but the point is, is that the time and money it would take to do that would be so far past what it would be to put a turbo or turbos and you would still be under power. And I can speak from personal experience to say the turbo on the isx is not cheap

I think a modded 71mm elite vgt would work well as a single.

I dont really understand the thinking that a non vgt will make more power than a simlar spec vgt?

Your saying the time and money isn't worth it, but if they prove it can be a awesome set up I bet a lot of people would love to have a vgt, the benefits of a single and almost no lag even with a big wheel

Only deal is that a large vgt single won't make as much torque and the factory modded compounds and won't make as much hp as a comparably sized/wheeled single.

This there no reason to have a single vgt. There barely reasons to have Single non vgt. And one of Those reasons is simplicity.

And sound. Singles IMO do sound a lot better...although I have no desire to run one.

Sound, power, still able to tow.... I swapped and love it. I will say it doesn't have the low end torque, but mid to high, it's as great, if bit better.
