Slamming into gear and tc locking up.

New trans. Started shifting very quick and hard, the TC is staying partially engaged. It doesn't die at stop signs but the engine pulls way down. It also engages each gear selection way to firmly. Usually pulling the rpms down quite a bit. It also downshifts like a Jake brake when coming to a stop.

I dont have the code reader, Is there a part that can let the TC stay partially locked or is this a VB problem?

It could be wiring, a solenoid, a sticky valve, a bad seal, or a bad torque converter. The codes would really help narrow it down.

Right, was just looking for a quick check without having to chase down a reader. It just seems odd for it to partially lock. I'll be back in town Friday I'll look for some chafed wires until then is there a way to dis-able the lock-up temporarily to check to see if that's the problem? Will the TC staying locked through the shifts cause the hard shifts?

Two blown fuses, 1&6. No more warning light and shifts perfect again. Now to figure out why they blew.
