Headed into town today with truck warm with cruise on the convertor clutch started slipping. It got worse and then threw the wrench light and wouldnt even attemt lock up. Pulled codes p0741 and p1744. I also noticed that it stuck in 4th gear after church this morning as well. Wife drove truck this last week and said that it didnt always want to shift right. I reloaded the tune and same thing. I was thinking the convertor took a poop, but the more Im thinking about it it might be a solenoid problem. The fluid needs flushed but not toasted smell. The thing I dont like is since Ive owned the truck(8 months) when ever I checked the fluid there is always crude on the stick from the tube. So should I pull the pan and look at solenoids or just pull the trans and take in to get rebuilt with new convertor? If this would have happened 6 months ago or 6 months from now I would have it gone through anyway but wife is Due in 6 weeks and would rather not spend the coin if not needed.
