D plates or higher, or commercial vehicles need inspected.

my inspector didn't know anything about testing for emmissions.

thats why i asked what he was doing that would req a emmissions test

il req's a dot inspection for all d plates and higher, and all commercial vehicles.

if you have a standard d plates, you will get a 6 month sticker

if you have a dot number, you will get a 1 year sticker.

most cops dont think to look for the sticker in the windshield. if you get pulled over by a state cop, or the tech man, it's a hefty ticket, then they will proceed to tech your truck and write every ticket they find, as you have not had your truck inspected so they are doing it for you.

father in law had that happen to him yesterday. cost him about $800+ by the time it was all said and done.

i would suggest you get tested.

but no, there is no emissions.

never heard about them laws before. i've been pulled over by local/county/state troopers before without any problems. never had any inspection stickers or anything besides the tiny DMV sticker that goes on the liscene plate and the one for gooseneck.

same on all our trucks. standard D plates on all of them. never had issues.

guess i'll worry about that after illinois makes me put a muffler on my truck

a relative of mine is the manager of the local DMV and she has never said anything about inspections. like i said, i'm not going to worry about it. my cousin is the local Chief of Police, he'd tell me if i have an issue

i would suggest you call your local testing facility, and simply ask them if you need tested or not.

just because the cop didn't say anything, doesn't mean you don't need to do it.

just trying to save you some money.

gonna have to make a sticky, not to answer posts that are emissions related, to a person with less than a couple hundred posts.

i didn't catch that, or i would have said something right off the bat
