Really what is the point of a smoke tune or lope tune?
Does it cause unnecessary wear and tear/damage?

there is no point...but IMO it doesn't cause any damage...we've never sold one/any so I wouldn't know about long term engine damage...brain damage on the other hand...

usually the lope tunes have big jumps in the ICP map..so the computer is constantly making huggggge swings in ICP pressure.

smoke tune...derrrr....

they say lope tunes wash cylinders ? idk

highly doubt it, probably just using that as a deterrent

...unless other tuners are purposefully (& ridiculously) retarding the injection timing...which generally causes excessssss white smoke.

the lope can be achieved by simply manipulating the ICP map.

I do not know much about that stuff but if it is poorly done with single shots 160cc/unknown nozzles and a regulated return any issues that may arise down the road? Should it be a point of talking down the price of the truck and or removing it completely.

Frankly, when buying a used truck, look for any reason to work the price down. Like the others have said, there is no significant data that says it harms an engine. However, if you can convince the seller that you think so and it gets your price down, negotiate away.
