Sputter sputter dead

So any idea where i should start?? This is what happened. Sputter sputter almost like in movies how they sound when they die. Then I crank it and it will sputter once or twice and theres white smoke coming from my engine compartment. It was right at dusk and I was trying to get back to utah called my buddy towed it to my place there in elko and he let me borrow his truck so I could get home for the weekend also there are no codes.

Try plugging it in for an hour or so. See if that helps.
If it does, sounds like a glow plug relay.

Need more info.
So it sputters and starts or it was running, started sputtering and now won't start and white smoke?
Will it run right now or not?

It was running id driven about 3 blocks when it sputtered and died

Wont start just cranks and cranks itll sputter here and there like it wants to start

Do you a scanner? Sounds like a CPS.

Check your fuses, especially the fuel heater fuse.

I ended up fizing it. It was just the cps
