Truck in my sig started fine, backed it up and as soon as I put it in gear and put my foot on the throttle it lost power and then died. Check engine light came on and now it will crank but won't fire up. Anything easy to check since the truck isn't at home?

Are you getting any smoke out of the tailpipe, RPM's being registered on the tach, do you get the wait to start light, is there fuel in the filter housing?

No wait to start light usually means that the fuel bowl heater has shorted out. You will need to disconnect it and replace fuse #22 in the under hood box. It is a 30 amp maxi fuse.

Went back and truck fired up fine. Got to the bottom of the driveway and it cut out again. Same symptoms as last time. Let it sit a few seconds and cranked it. Cranked for approx. 15 seconds then fired up and drove fine all the way home. I'm going to mess with it tomorrow an see what I can find out

Check the CPS connection. My belt started to come apart and pulled the CPS connector a little and it would run and die.

Sure, it's a possibility. I'd run some power service in tank to deal with the water and check the bowl for water before trying to start it.
