Who's had the tilt steering column apart? My ignition switch quit working was hoping it was just the tumbler but it isn't. I haven't had much time to mess with it, but I looked at it and it looks like there is a plastic piece between the tumble and the ignition switch and it looks like it is broken in half. My question is how do I get it out. Like I said I didn't have much time when I looked at it but it kinda looked like I'm prolly gonna have to take the column out to get at it? Is this right? Or is there a simple way I over looked?

Thanks

I've done this. You have to take the whole steering column apart and there is a pivot pin in the rod that runs the switch at the base of the column. Mine came out and I just put it back in; has been that way for two years now and haven't had any trouble.
Attached is a write up I did a few years ago.
