still safe to run these tires?

Short story is that a shop totally screwed up a front end alignment resulting in the outer edges wearing very quickly. I rotated these to back, got the alignment fixed and all has been good. However I've got a couple long distance heavy hauls to make and am wondering if these tires are safe to use doing so? They're Michelin LTX M/S2 265/75 R16 that have just turned 3 yrs old. Bottom line - would you run these 2000 miles hauling 18K?

Personally... I'd toss 'em and get the shop that did the alignment to buy me a new set.

What kind of condition are they in? Dry rot?

Tread depth isn't really a strength factor.

Aside from the outer edge being worn down they're in good shape. No dry rot and always kept properly inflated. I just wasn't sure if being worn on a taper had an effect on tire strength or not.

Tried getting the shop to replace them but pretty sure I'd of had better luck getting Ford to give me a new truck instead. Things got very nasty very quick.
