stock transmission upgrades

Well I asked on another thread. But couldn't get any response. So I'll start a new thread. I wanna know what all upgrades there are for stock 2011 transmission. Ive heard heard of updated shift solenoids from ford. I also wondered about upgraded torque converters? I seen where a company offers a shift kit for our transmissions. Does anyone have any info on these. There has to be some stuff we can do to help our stock transmissions last longer under higher HP levels, short of building them. I know they still won't last forever tho. Thanks

Where did you find these upgraded solenoids at??

They are the Ford solenoids to do the TSB on the early 11 trucks.

Interestingly enough, the 2011 were not the only ones plagued with a shift flare.

The #5,7,10 solenoids need replaced.

I personally have not done this to mine. But from the reports I've read it seems the be the magic ticket to shift flaring and hard shift specifically on 2-3 flare and 4-5 harsh.

Oh I thought you were referring to some aftermarket solenoids that were out now...

My transmission will flare 3-4 and slip 4-5 and 5-6 but that's a whole different story...

I also have a 2011, but not early build. Do you have the part numbers for these solenoids and the TSB that relates to this? I always related my occasional random shift flares to the H&S tuning as it never did it stock.

I've got all the stuff at home and will post up once I get back. Out working in Western IA this week. I ended up just buying all the solenoids as the price my guy shot me just made it easy. The question will be if it will move once I swap them. The TSB references a TCM programming update as I think some solenoids may go from NO to NC or vice versa. Not 100% sure though.

So what's e everyone's opinion on a shift kit? Is a good idea or bad idea? There not very expensive. I hate giving the company my business, but there the only company selling them. But if they work and won't jack up the trans for some reason I'm not aware of. I'd almost try one, if no one else has.

I don't see a need for a shift kit if the clutch packs are getting the said pressure that can be commanded..

I suppose the solenoids can be looked up on fordparts.com I use the sunrise ford dealer code when referencing prices. As far as the TSB. I found it on thedieselstop.com I do believe. I could probably google it and find it again real fast.
