My heads were cracked . So the question is how to keep them from cracking agin . A friend of mine has a hot shot business and had 3 engines with holes in block so I tried all of those heads all were cracked . Went to junk yard to find heads took a wile but have a good set now to seems all these heads are cracking how do I stop this from happening agin . I have ported intake to install this time but don't think that will help seems like I just need more air to me but I don't know haven't built enough to know.

Do a search on this. A few months ago, Kyle (I cant remember his exact name) claimed he had the answer and his answer did make sense...basically he said any points in the heads get hotter than the rest of the head which leads to cracking. He was grinding them all down which is time consuming, but none of the big dogs argued his points. I don't know if anyone has verified this works yet (its probably not been done long enough ago to know yet), but it made me think if I ever have to replace the heads, I might have him do mine. I cant remember the exact name of the thread, but I think it was called Hardened Valve Seats.

I guess there is no wories of cracked heads anymore?

I'd rather know 100% than assuming....

So studs one at a time did not work for me going to start over in about two weeks the old fashion way. Found a mechanic that would rent me a bay with a lift. Going to start ordering parts Monday . Should I worry about HPFP? If so modded, rebuild, or ford stock replacement not planning on large injectors ever.

not so much points, as it was sharp edges.

he was rounding the sharp edges.

like what you would do when you pull the lip back on pistons, if you can picture stock pistons to the ih pistons. same principal.

I did almost a year ago. gaskets were fine, couldn't wait for the heads to be decked or checked. so we did studs 1 at a time. went great. no leaking running IDP Xrace running the dog piss out of it.

I'm talking about shaving the edges around the valve seats
