Suncoast HD Converter Problems?

Is there still people having problems with the HD converters? I will be buying a TC today and was goin to go with a RCD, but now there is a HD for sale in the classifieds that would save me $400. With a kid on the way, this seems like it could be the way to go. He says it has two years warranty left on it, but I still don't want to rip the truck apart again to send it in and be without the truck for a week or two. What would you do?

I went through 2.. Mine was perfect on the street, never skipped a beat. wasn't until the track that it didn't last. You should be fine with it

What about when I go to the track lol? I know I'm not pushing big hp but I plan on being over 700 before I'm done.

You should be fine at that level. If you are going to be around 900 that's a different story

Just depends on your power level in my opinion.

I went thru 3 HD converters.

I am running a DPC converter now.

I also am not a huge fan of buying a used converter, hard telling how it was used and even the strongest can fail. I also run a DPC in my truck.

Im running the hd and dont really care much for it. It feels kinda sloppy at times. As soon as i get done with my suspension build im switching to RCD.

That's what everyone says lol. If it were me I would switch to a RCD or a DPC, do it right the first time

HD was fine for me at 600hp,but when I turned up the power it let go.

At the 750hp level I went through 3. I would personally go with DPC or RCD

I have had good luck so far with the HD converter but the truck is only at the 550-600 level at the moment. Has had a dozen or so high 12 passes at full weight. We'll see how it holds up next year around 750-800 hp.

Has anybody used a transtar convertor? They have a tripple disc with billet cover with a 3 year warrenty. Just wondering cause of the price.

I destroyed my HD converter @ 650 and put in a RCD Converter

No looking back now.. And the truck is more fun on the street

Its more of a stock replacement. For the money you cant beat it if you arent into power
