4x4, hub locked/on?

Try and turn the axle shaft with the hub lock on the "auto" position or off if the truck doesn't have ESOF.

Used to on my 6.0. Turned out I didn't tighten the cab bolt good enough after I had the cab off. Dunno if yours has been off or not but something to check if so

Since it has been cold here every time I pull into my driveway or go over a speed bump at the right angle my left rear makes a cracking/pop sound. It has only been doing this since it has been cold. When it was above freezing the past couple of days it hasn't done it. Also my front left makes an odd noise every time I take a left turn or curve to left. It has a hollow/hum that sounds like it can be heard throughout the cab. any ideas? A couple people at work said it may be the wheel bearing.

front end noise is the hub bearing going south...how many miles?

You think it could be anything to do with my truck having a gooseneck hitch with airbags? The sound happens when there is a horizontal shift from what I am kind of gathering.

There was a tsb on a similar cab noise to what you are describing. Ford places a shim between the cab and the mount by the drivers feet. I had the same noise and this was thier answer. So far so good.

your Left hand turning hum....I had a similar issue with my 6.0 it turned out to be the exhaust hitting a bolt on the frame. Sometimes when the downpipe is loosened at the turbo, the exhaust system will move. Unless its reclocked when you tighten it back down you can rub the frame...just something to check

I finally needed to use my 4WD and it is really noticeable when it's engaged especially when coasting. Definitely from the front left.
