I was just wondering how many guys are running or have ran innovative tunes on a relatively stock truck? (Stock trans and head studs) I plan on doing a build sometime in the future but who knows when that's gonna happen. Also what are you guys using for gauges? I know the live wire is pretty crappy so I'm thinking either edge cts or dashdaq. Any feedback would be appreciated! Thanks.

I would do the dashdaq over the cts just for the amount of monitoring capabilities. You could use your H&S unless you are running the xrt pro. I use my livewire for minitoring because I dont feel like coming off my pocket to buy a dashdaq right now. Does fine for me, plus no one wants to still the ugly thing LOL

Im running Innovative tuning. Truck is next to stock except for EGR delete, CAC pipe, intake elbow and IC. No studs or any other mods. Truck lives on Street and is happy with it. I use the DD for monitoring all my temps.

I have similar mods to you besides the intercooler. That sounds pretty good.

Just a question. You guys don't use any analog guages? Just the DashDaq and your saying that is good enough. I am not saying it isn't, just asking.

Since the OBD port monitors everything on these trucks, its so much easier to just plug in something and monitor away. The analog gauges would need probes and senders, and its all already built in.

Since the 6.4 has a build in pyro there is no need for analog gauges cause with a dashdaq you get get hundred's of parameters with out the need of tons of gauges.

Yea what JD said.

I ran xrace on a stock truck for 15k - I dont reccomend that unless your ready to do a trans and studs LOL

For competition I like Innovative but for DD purposes I've been very happy with my Gearhead tune.

Nothing against h&s I've had no problems with it but I've just heard innovative is the ticket. Also preparing for future mods that may need custom tuning.

im about to pick up a livewire myself.. I dont know if my truck competes with ID tuned trucks. So im selling my H&S. remember if youre running KEM tunes now-talk to mike cause he can tune SCT also. Im planning on running IDP race, KEM 345, and Matts hot street and maybe race.

i also ran a CTS for a while in mine-didnt monitor enough important things. So i picked up a DD from DrewTech and I love it.

I really like my Gearhead tune as well. I have just the Beta SRL tune right now but I'd take it over XRace anyday for just driving. Plus I was able to get a 13.3 out of it last fall so it does pretty well for a street tune.

Once I get an sct, I'll be able to switch between gear head and innovative if I wanted too. With h&s only thing custom to get is kem.

I have boost, egt and trans on my pillar just for when I don't have my DD, but the DD is really nice for monitoring stuff.

I had the cts also, but got rid of it in favor of a dashdaq. They are much better, I ran the IDP tunes for about 5k and have now been running gearhead tunes. I havent had any notable problems so far.

I'd be interested in switching to if I knew how they compared to my Kem tunes. I've never personally rode in an innovative truck.

Heres the way i usually explain it:

KEM has the best, smoothest DD tune I've ever driven.

Innovative makes the nastiest, fastest truck at the truck and has god awful all out power.
