Buddy has a good turbo off a international truck with t444e motor. From my understanding they use a different turbo than our superduties. Can someone explain the difference between the 2 or even help me out with some p/n he said it will bolt up but all im seeing is a t-4 style flange and mine requires a v-band.

I'm assuming the t444e turbo is an obs turbo and I can't see your Sig on my phone but I'm assuming by your username that you gave a 99 so yours has the newer turbo setup. If that's the case you could make it work but it wouldn't be worth the trouble.

I highly doubt it, considering its from the same engine, which may or may not have the same size, or just slightly larger injectors

Since I'm in this t444 discussion, are the HPOPs the same between a t444 engine in a school bus, for example, as they are in our trucks? Given the certain year for certain degree pumps.

Joey from terminator says it does. So he is being sent 2 next week. Pulling them Saturday. $14 each I think they sell them for.

He says what does? The hpops varied between the 15 and 17 degree swash plates just like on the fords or that they Will interchange between a t444e and a 7.3?

Ahh okay. Good to know, I always figured they would, but honestly have never done much on the t444e's other than oil changes and I think an ipr pigtail, so haven't looked at the engine accessories near as much as a 7.3's.

I almost want to just buy this whole motor. It's gotta have really high mileage but still. Prolly has forged rods, bigger injectors from factory. Id have to look at it more but it's decently clean for being in a school bus. Even still has oil in it that has some viscosity.

Do it! I love that color, that's the color I painted my hpop res, sd fuel bowl, lines, etc for when I swap to e fuel.

I'm very tempted. The other engine is the same color but covered in dirt and oil as is a trait of the t44e from international. I'm thinking get some compression numbers to make sure neither of them are terrible or seized and go from there. They sell engines for $125ish I think. I could easily make that back just by selling the injectors as cores. As long as that's what they'll sell it for. Maybe if I make an argument that it's the same engine that my pickup came with from the factory they will realize it's not worth more than that after being in a school bus it's whole life.

Don't those international motors also have the desirable hpop reservoir? The ones people do diy gen 3s out of?

I honestly have no clue, but the res did look different from the pictures I've seen of superduty ones.

I believe so. I know I've noticed on at least one older one in a international box truck had a gen3 ish looking setup, but iirc, it was the power steering pump that mounted above the resovoir.
