Taking some heads to the machine shop today. What do I need to have done? I know check for cracks and decked. What about sinking the valves so there is no valve to piston contact? Also hardened valve seats and new valve seals? Would a shop have the valve seats and seals or would I need to get them? Thanks y'all.

Decking, pressure checking, and magnafluxing. The machine shop you're bringing it to should already know what needs to be done as far as sinking valves etc... there is a minimum thickness spec that needs to be followed 3.74".

I would make sure the shop you're bringing them to has done 6.0/6.4 heads before

There is a powerstroke repair shop in town and I called them to ask who they take their heads to and this is who they said so I'm sure they have done 6.0 heads. Thanks for the info.

Perfect. I had a valve job done on mine when it was in there, and also all new valve seals. Figured I was already doing that much work, what was the couple extra bills? My valve job was $175. Seals were $80.
