Truck build post on PSA.

I'm currently in the process of acquiring the final parts for my little build.
Truck is an '04 with the basic mods, studded, ******d, regulated return yada yada yada...
Truck for the time being is a DD although I do have a company truck that I spend most of my day in. It also doesn't tow but maybe 5-10% of the time and it's never very heavy. Mostly a fun street truck.
I'll be doing all of the work myself cab on, probably in my driveway.

I've got a set of 205/100's that are getting sent out to be rebuilt and freshened up. Who would you guys recommend sending them to? I was thinking either Holders or Warren etc.
I picked up a new in the box 6.7 pump for a steal and ordered an XDP single hole sump similar to Beans.
Next thing I need to order is my turbo setup, plan is to go non-VGT.
I'll be going with MPD's new kit, I really like how the pedestal incorporates the oil feed.
I'd like to hear what y'all recommend. I was thinking about an s366 sxe, possibly a 369. Thoughts?
Trans will get built down the road once I recoup some funds. In the mean time I'll have a reduced fuel tune written to help keep it alive.
My big question is while I'm doing injectors what else can and or should I do as far as valve train components? Pushrods, rollers etc. I don't know what all can be done with just the valve covers off.
If you guys see anything that I'm overlooking or have any hints please let me know. I've never really dug this far into my truck before. But know my way around an engine.
It'll be a bit of a slow process, but I'll try and update this with pics as I move along. Sorry for such a long post, been planning this for a while and wanted to give as much info as possible. Thanks again guys.

Might as well start off with a pic of my truck.

I've had holders do my injectors and haven't missed a beat, great turn around time too. As far as valve train components, you could do push rods but just do one rocker arm at a time. You'd have less chance of compromising your HG seal that way.

Forget that 66 if that is your other choice from the 69sxe. Get the 69 and never look back you should really enjoy that turbo. I love mine- with 100 nozzles you should get alot more power than what I have with the 75's. It cleans up my 205/75's to nothing on a full fuel tune

What's spool up like with the 69? I've been drooling over them since they came out

Spool up is great. If you get a little under the turbo there is a slight bit of lag but it starts to come alive about 1600 rpm give or take. I have no complaints with it on the street. But once it's lit the turbo really really pulls- pretty impressive I think.

One of those might find its way onto the truck when its finally moved to a dedicated play toy lol.
My sump and pump showed up at the house the yesterday..its a shame that I'm not there yet. I will post up some pics when get back from rotation. Found a shop based out of NJ that is setting me up with all of the lines and fittings for the pump. Plan is to feed the back of the heads instead of the front. Should be placing that order early next week.
Hopefully send out injectors for at the end of the month as well.

The 369SX-E has been working great for us, we have been selling them to guys with 190-225cc injectors with no complaints. The new turbine design spools way better than the old 366 style.

Parts are rolling in and others getting sent out.

Got my injectors cleaned up and ready to send off to Holders.
XDP sump and 6.7 pump arrived. So far I really like the feel and quality of the sump. We'll have to see how it performs.

Fuel lines and fittings were ordered this morning and should be here before long. I'm getting excited. Ready to start putting this thing together.

Not much to update as of yet, been collecting parts.
Injectors got back from Holders about a week or so after I sent them out. Even though they were very busy he still managed to find the time to not only email me with updates but call me when they ran into some complications. As it turns out the "205/100" injectors I thought I was purchasing were in fact 7 injectors that flowed in the 150 range and 1 injector that flowed in the 140 range. Needless to say I was a little bit irritated. Spoke with the guy I got them from and got everything hammered out. Holders took care of me in getting them to back up to their standards. Can't speak enough about how awesome those guys are over there.
I'm still waiting on the rest of my fuel system parts, due to a shop move and some family health emergencies the shop making them has taken longer than initially anticipated.
My original plan involved using MPD's new T4 kit and a 369sxe for air. Then with a discussion with James from Barder we decided that a 366sxe might be a better fit for my goals with the truck. Few weeks and a whole lot more reading goes by and I started to 2nd guess myself on wanting to go non-VGT and almost pulled the trigger on a KC stage 2. It was at this point that I stumbled across a new in the box Irate T4 kit for sale in the classifieds on here. The deal was too good to resist. Purchased it and promptly placed an order with Mr. Barder for a new 366sxe :naughty:
A few more short weeks left in this hitch out in the field and I should be able to actually have some pics of things and install to make this thread actually worth a damn lol.

Boredom got the best of me. Always been a fan of the excursion grills, and my original grill was pretty hashed out.
Ordered a set of Harley heads as well. Looks a lot better than it used to!

Well...looks like middle of August I'll be heading to my folks house to get this project fully underway! It's about time I'm more anxious than ever, especially when I keep getting photos like these..

Your parts are taking up our spare room...

I've been tossing around the idea of picking up some BD exhaust manifolds. What're everyone's thoughts on them? Worth it? Not worth it? Let me hear it!
Also when would be a good time to start hitting up pipe bolts with PB Blaster?

I suppose I should update this a little bit.
In mid August I managed to get home to Idaho for my vacation. Got the truck pulled in the garage and the front up on stands. A buddy of mine was there to help me pull everything apart, then oddly enough was nowhere to be found when it was time to start adding parts. Funny how that works.

Just enough room to work.

The majority of the week I was only able to put in half days because the evenings were to be spent with friends and family.
I managed to get everything accomplished by Saturday afternoon. Just enough time to put a few miles on before making the trek back to Colorado.

By and large the install of everything went smooth as could be. I think the most difficult part was pulling the original up pipe bolts. Even after lots of penetrating oil we wound up having to cut them.

Fuel system was super simple as well. The 6.7 pump wired up super easy and the fuel lines I ordered up were super simple as well. They took longer than I'd have liked to get but were fully worth it. I added a post pump filter base and filter, then proceeded to feed the back heads and return out the front with my existing regulator. Took my saw to the factory fuel filter housing as well. Cleaned up the engine bay pretty good.
These are a couple of photos that were sent to me. I did my work cab on so pics would've been tough to get.

The 366sxe looks so much better than factory.

After getting most everything installed and set where I liked it was a bit of a mad thrash on my part getting everything back together in time for me to leave. I'll get some more updated pics when I get to my truck.
I had G Head write a tune to keep the stock trans alive and they nailed it. Even with fuel pulled back this thing rips now! The 66sxe spools really pretty well and cleans everything up. I did notice some smoke output when running down the highway in OD and I fall under the charger.
Truck is a blast to drive. I'm trying to behave somewhat...trying to keep the stock trans alive.
Next on the list is obviously a trans, some trac bars, maybe some spray at some point. I'd really like to get it down the track at least once to see how she does.
