Tinted tail light bulbs

So I got picked up by the local authoritay for my tinted tail lights last night. I've never had a problem in the past when stopped during the day. I am running stock bulbs currently. Question is, is there another option for a brighter bulb that I can run so that my tints aren't so obvious at night??? You guys having any issues?

A LED upgrade is what I was going to suggest.

My experience with Superbrightleds LED bulb in a Dodge socket housing....the original halogen bulb was actually brighter than the $25 LED bulb from them.

Maybe the housing setup is better in the Ford tails than they were with Dodge.

Other than that tail light bulb I've had nothing but good experience from Superbrightleds, and the bulbs have always been better than the halogen option.

The retro tail light bulbs are crazy bright. And he is a sponsor on here, thats what I have in my tinted housings and they are brighter than they were before
