hey guys so I got my truck back together a couple weeks ago, ended up putting a new ford short block in and also did the upgraded valvesprings/ pushrods while I was in their... I've put about 800 miles on it and its been running amazing, gonna change the oil in the morning.. my question is should I be alright to throw the truck on the rollers tomorow? we have a local dyno day and I'd like to see what it does

Ive never worried about break in. Fire it up, build oil psi, give it a once over, operating temperature and then flog the pis out of it. Havent had any issues that way. If iys going to break, its gonna break regardless.

I have always heard if you pussy foot it around in a break in period, it wont run as strong...dont know if thats true or not.

so theirs isn't much of a break in period on these new diesels? seating rings main bearings/ seals?

Seating the rings happens almost instant after the engine has had some load through it.
Like everyone else, you will be fine. I had 150 miles on my dually when I latched onto 18000# over the hills and that was more of a load than the dyno will put on you.
Roller engine break in for me.
Start engine, verify oil pressure, once over for leaks, warm up, back out, drive till into a 3rd or 4th gear then gradually get into the throttle till full watching oil pressure, torque break till stopped, hammer it. Engine good.
