tow/haul flashing

i have an 03 6.0 with a 5r110 and when i reverse more then 15 feet and put it is drive my trans gets to 3rd gear and then drops into neutral then shifts into 3rd again. why does this happen??

Sounds like the 3-5 solenoid is acting up or your trans is getting ready to give out. How many miles are on it and what's the truck used for?

About to hit 200k and it's just my daily. I drive it after work to just go for a cruise. I usually use it for pulling my dirtbike or snowmobile to the Poconos but that's it.

The flashing tow/haul means a code has been stored in memory. You need that code to find out what's wrong. Without the code all I can tell you is that something isn't right.

The places that read codes free cannot read these codes. Go to a good independent shop or a Ford dealer.
