Hey good afternoon guys,

I was wondering if someone can take a few moments and answer a few questions regarding a trans cooler i just grabbed.

I was able to get a free 32 Row from a buddies 6.0.

The cooler has a slight dent on the top of it. Will this hamper the performance of the cooler? If there any way to fix this small bend?

Also, Whats the best way to flush the cooler? I saw that some parts stores sell a kit to flush trans coolers. Has any one used these?

Any input would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help.
Anthony

If it doesn't leak you should be fine.
Flushing a contamated cooler is not a good idea as you will never get it all out.

Not saying it is but usually when someone askes about flushing its because the cooler came from a old dead trans...

We hot flush trans coolers on rebuilds. Like Cary said you wont get it all out if there is any contaminants. Magnafine filters help too.
Hook up some air to it and spray some soapy water on the cooler. Any leaks will cause bubbles. You don't need much air to find leaks.

To be safe out a filter between it and the trans return line. Magnafine or better yet a spin on with base but a bit more to install.
