Turbo removal

What tools are needed to remove the turbo from our trucks?

5/16" nut driver , multiple length u joint 10 mm and ratcheting stubby 10 mm.

I have also custom bent a 15 mm to loosen the bottom nuts and the exhaust flange then u can leave the exhaust in tack.

I have been successful in 40 min removal ( did it 3 times trying to pin point a leak that I simply overlooked.


With stock EPBV in place it is a major PITA so take your time and here is a link of what I'm talking about

Never done it on an OBS, but iirc basic hand tools will cut it. The first time I did mine I replaced the up-pipes too and removal/install took me all day. Second turbo I did in a friends truck was out and in quick. No more than a couple hours. It's pretty easy once you figure out what it takes.
