two piece downpipe removal

Any tricks to this guys? I fought this damn thing for about 2 hours yesterday, got it to spread about an inch apart It's an obs truck if it matters

was the tube coined by the clamp at the slip joint? I tried to adjust mine after being installed for about a year and it didn't want to come apart.

The tube was indented from the clamp it gave me false hope by moving an inch haha
